Job summary

Ascent Hospitality is launching a new 350-room AC Hotel & Element Hotel in Birmingham, AL, and seeks a Director of Finance to build the financial operations from the ground up. You will partner with the General Manager and leadership team to drive performance, accuracy in reporting, and robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel finance or as director-level role preferred.
• Experience in full-service/high-volume hotel environment is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hotel's day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Establish financial processes, controls, and procedures for the new hotel opening.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports.
• Partner with the General Manager and department leaders to monitor revenue, expenses, labor and performance.
• Provide financial insights to support profitability.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
• Train department leaders on financial procedures and budgeting.
