Ascent Hospitality is launching a 350-room AC Hotel & Element Hotel in Birmingham, AL, seeking a detail-oriented Director of Finance to lead the financial operation from the ground up. You will partner with the General Manager to drive strong performance, reporting accuracy, and sound controls.

The role emphasizes establishing processes, overseeing budgeting and forecasts, and delivering actionable financial insights to optimize profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, or related field.
• Proven experience in hotel finance and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance and accounting operations for the new Birmingham hotel.
• Establish financial processes, controls, and procedures for opening.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports.
• Monitor revenue, expenses, labor, and overall hotel performance with leadership.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support profitability.
• Oversee payables, receivables, payroll, cash management, and GL activities.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end close and accurate records.
