Job summary

UT Southwestern Department of Dermatology seeks a Director of Finance to oversee the integrity and timeliness of accounting and financial reporting. You will lead cross‑functional teams, ensure accurate close cycles, and strengthen controls while partnering with auditors and leadership across the institution.

The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, strategic leadership, and experience with complex financial reporting, including governance and compliance under州 GASB/GAAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• 7–10 years progressively responsible, related experience in higher education finance, including at least 4 years in supervisory capacity.
• Master’s degree preferred; CPA certification and Big 4/Public Accounting experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal and external monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes.
• Ensure GL integrity including journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations, and related activities.
• Develop and maintain close calendars and reporting processes; improve controls and efficiency.
