Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX, seeks an experienced accounting leader to provide advanced guidance within the Office of Accounting. The role focuses on financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with state and UT System guidelines.

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years in accounting with supervisory experience, a Bachelor's degree, and preferably a Master's degree and CPA certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree; 7 years progressive accounting experience with 3 years in supervision.
• Preferred: Master's degree and CPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage Financial Reporting and Accounting Operations divisions, including work plans and annual performance evaluations for staff.
• Establish priorities to ensure accurate and timely completion.
• Prepare annual financial reports per guidelines; handle internal/external reporting.
• Monitor UBIT liability and internal controls for efficiency and reliability.
• Coordinate audits and implement policy changes based on findings.
• Oversee accounting for affiliated 501(c)3s; manage bank reconciliations and GL activities.
• Supervise automated voucher postings and period closings; monitor reports for accuracy.
• Interpret reporting requirements from agencies; propose improved reporting processes.
• Maintain divisional policies and perform other duties as assigned.
