Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Director of Fiscal Reports & Accounting Operations to lead the accounting and financial reporting function. You will optimize close processes, strengthen controls, and ensure accurate reporting while working with auditors and executives.

This senior role requires strong technical accounting expertise, supervisory experience, and collaboration with Finance leadership to drive process improvements and strategic financial planning.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years progressively responsible finance experience in higher education or similar setting.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field required; Master's preferred.
• CPA certification or active status required/desired.
• GASB financial reporting standards knowledge and external reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting processes.
• Ensure accuracy of general ledger, reconciliations, consolidations, and related accounting activities.
• Maintain accounting policies and segregation of duties; monitor internal controls.
• Lead cross-functional finance initiatives, audits, and liaison with external auditors.
• Manage joint ventures, partnerships, and affiliated entities accounting and reporting.
