• Seven years of progressively responsible municipal finance experience.
• Three years supervisory experience.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license, or ability to obtain one.”

As the Village’s financial expert and advisor, you’ll help guide financial decisions, support long-term priorities and maintain the sound financial practices that help Oswego thrive.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal finance.
• Three (3) years supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered where they provide the required knowledge, skills, and leadership capability.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license, or ability to obtain one in accordance with Village requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO).

Compensation

• Salary range effective January 1, 2027, $142,563-$213,866; anticipated hiring range up to $185,000 DOQ.
