Ready to lead in one of Chicagoland's premier communities? The Village of Burr Ridge is looking for its next Finance Director.
About 20 miles southwest of downtown Chicago in DuPage and Cook Counties, Burr Ridge blends beautiful neighborhoods, a thriving business community, highly rated schools, and easy access to I-55, I-294, O'Hare, and Midway. The Village is in enviable financial shape: debt-free with significant cash reserves, a three-time GFOA Triple Crown winner, and has eliminated its municipal property tax starting in 2027. With over 95% of Burr Ridge's residents expressing confidence in Village government, along with unparalleled political and organizational stability, positions in communities like this don't come around very often.
This job is much more than just “Finance Director”. As one of just four department heads reporting to the Village Administrator, you'll lead a newly unified Administrative Services Department. You'll oversee budgeting, accounting, treasury and investments, payroll, purchasing, audits, and internal controls, plus HR, IT, the cloud-based BS&A ERP, Village Clerk functions, and constituent services. Your influence will extend well beyond the numbers, with leadership of human resources, information technology, document management, licensing, Village Clerk functions, and constituent services. You'll continue developing the Village's cloud-based BS&A ERP system, serve as staff liaison to the Police Pension Board, and build strong relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and professional partners. Exciting initiatives are already underway, including a police pension analysis, implementation of recommendations from an independent internal control and fraud risk study, and long‑term facilities planning.
Burr Ridge wants a leader who can manage and advance its administrative functions, listen first, collaborate naturally, embrace innovation, and have the professional courage to give candid advice.
Burr Ridge expects the selected candidate to begin work in January 2027.
