The Village of Schaumburg is seeking a Director of Finance to shape fiscal health and long-term stability for a vibrant community. This leadership role directs budgeting, accounting, licensing, water billing, and pension fund treasurership, guiding a team of 22 in a transparent, collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s in Accounting/Finance/Public Administration and at least five years in public finance, with managerial experience; CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or related field.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in public finance administration or related fields, preferably in government.
• Five years of managerial experience coordinating staff performance.
• CPA certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Direct the Village's financial operations in alignment with the mission and policies, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, accounting, licensing, and water billing.
• Ensure compliance, transparency, and responsible stewardship of public funds.
• Serve as Treasurer for Police and Fire pension funds and provide actionable financial insight to executive leadership.
• Lead a team of 22 staff and collaborate across departments to meet objectives and deadlines.
