Job summary

Athelas is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the financial core of our revenue cycle product. You will own the ledger, reports, and analytics that drive how practices close their books.

You’ll manage 6–8 engineers across a modernization effort, partnering with product to steer the roadmap and ensure financial correctness throughout the platform. You will drive multi-quarter migrations, establish parity checks, and collaborate with cross-team stakeholders to avoid downstream impact.

Qualifications

• Requires strong backend and data fluency with focus on financial data systems.
• Ability to review query plans, ledger design, and parity checks.
• Experience leading engineers incl. senior/staff levels; capable of career growth.
• Proven track record shipping data-intensive, financial, or reporting systems.
• Familiarity with OLAP stores and audit-trail requirements.
• Understanding of ledger migration and close automation workflows.
• Experience shipping AI-assisted reporting features is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own roadmap for financial core platform with product partner.
• Manage 6–8 engineers, guide performance and career growth.
• Lead multi-quarter migrations with parity checks and minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with payments, data infra, and ops to prevent downstream breaks.
• Engage with CFOs/comptrollers to translate financial correctness into software.
• Ensure financial correctness and robust monitoring across the system.
