Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Management or a related field with junior or senior standing.
• GPA of at least 2.5 is preferred.
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel and data manipulation.

Responsibilities

• Intern uses Excel spreadsheets to develop automated processes to minimize manual efforts.
• Assist in reviewing, analyzing, and investigating discrepancies in charges and help implement changes for professional and hospital charges.
• Prepare financial and statistical analyses and extract data to perform trend calculations and measure performance.
• Participate in developing cost accounting and productivity standards and perform variance analyses.
• Contribute to pricing analyses using costing methodologies and market information.
• Assist with budgeting processes and monitor operating and capital budgets.
• Support budgeting, finance, cost accounting and reporting activities across departments.
• Apply government program and managed care payment rules to financial activities.
• Assist with patient charge reconciliation and revenue cycle projects and workflows.
• Track and update reports and support administrative duties as needed.
• Participate in program development or process improvement initiatives.
