Job summary

Transamerica is offering an accounting/finance internship for college students for 14 weeks, late January to late April. It is full-time during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, with a strong emphasis on applying classroom knowledge to real business projects.

You will collaborate with finance leaders, report to a manager, and develop documentation, analyses, and requirements across multiple finance areas. Preference for self-driven individuals with communication skills.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college or university pursuing accounting, finance, or analytics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Use multiple financial tools to produce analyses.
• Identify problems and seek help to resolve them.
• Adhere to internal controls framework.
• Conduct business and data analysis to align requirements to initiatives.
• Prepare as-is and current state process documentation (flows).
• Elicit business and systems requirements from stakeholders.
• Develop new or revised processes in lieu of system development.
• Document business requirements and data transformation rules for technical teams.
• Create documentation for business and system requirements in various formats.
• Provide business and data analysis on moderately complex information systems.
