Job summary

Transamerica is offering a college internship in accounting/finance based in Cedar Rapids. Intern will perform financial analysis, data consolidation, and reporting while supporting monthly close processes and forecasting efforts.

You will gain hands-on experience with internal controls and client reporting in a large financial services environment. Candidates must be enrolled in a degree program and proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at a college or university pursuing an accounting, finance, or analytical-type degree.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, accurate, able to work independently and in a team.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional financial analysis work using accounting and information systems.
• Consolidates, analyzes, and validates financial data.
• Responds to management and department requests.
• Understanding information flow to troubleshoot problems.
• Participates in monthly accounting processes to ensure accuracy of records.
• Updates financial reports and models for forecasting and trends.
