Job summary

FundThrough is seeking a hands-on Chief Controller to own internal controls, lead a four-person finance team, and scale processes as we grow. This role reports to senior management and collaborates with Founders to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and cross-border compliance.

You will design and monitor controls for lending and payments, manage the monthly close, and partner with the CFO on FP&A across multi-currency operations.

Qualifications

• US CPA with 8+ years as Controller in finance roles at a factoring company, lender or similar

Responsibilities

• Design and implement internal controls across finance operations, focusing on lending, funding and payment procedures.
• Lead, manage and develop a finance team of four.
• Own daily cash release controls and ensure funding, payment and release accuracy.
• Establish ongoing monitoring and testing of control effectiveness, report exceptions and drive remediation.
• Oversee monthly close, board reports, and liaise with the audit firm.
• Deliver monthly reporting to investors and partners; take over repeatable reports.
• Oversee regulatory filings across US states and Canadian provinces.
• Manage multi-currency cash movements and liquidity planning with CFO input.
• Oversee full accounting cycle, cost structure analysis, and policy improvements.
• Coordinate payroll, ESOP, and cap table records.
