Job summary

Smart Building Technologies, a Fidelity Building Services Group company, seeks an experienced Controller to lead all financial and accounting operations. You will partner with leadership on oversight, analysis, budgeting, and growth strategies while ensuring reporting integrity and strong internal controls.

The role requires 5+ years of full-cycle accounting in a related field, construction industry experience preferred, and proficiency with GL, WIP, POC, and revenue recognition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Experience with GL, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
• Experience with job costing, WIP, POC, and revenue recognition.
• Proficiency with Great Plains or similar ERP.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee GL, AR, AP, billing, payroll, job costing, and revenue recognition.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare, review, and publish monthly financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy of financial data for ECAC meetings.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee WIP and POC accounting.
• Monitor project costs and job profitability.
• Collaborate with corporate accounting on results.
• Oversee cash flow and working capital.
• Lead forecasting and annual budgeting.
• Implement accounting policies to minimize risk.
• Assist with audits and tax filings.
