Position Overview:

The role of the Finance Controller is to effectively manage the USA Finance/Accounting team and ensure that the Americas' financial statements and tax filings comply with Avidity Science's policies and procedures, GAAP, SOX, and government regulations.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure deadlines for all global consolidated financial reporting processes are met.
  2. Manage the USA Accounting team to ensure accurate and efficient AR, AP, Tax, Cost, and general accounting processes and reports.
  3. Provide accurate and timely global consolidated and divisional financial statements, analysis, and reports to the VP, Finance, and ALC as needed.
  4. Ensure adherence to SOX controls and timely, accurate reporting of controls by the Americas accounting team.
  5. Drive process improvements and standardize reporting globally where applicable.
  6. Oversee all intercompany transactions and reconciliations globally.
  7. Collaborate with the VP, Finance on transfer pricing reviews and intercompany markups.
  8. Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
  9. Foster the growth and development of the accounting team.
  10. Ensure timely, accurate, and effective training for new and current employees on SOPs, policies, and work instructions.
  11. Assist with tax audits and governmental filings.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the VP, Finance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5-10 years of relevant experience in public accounting, private enterprise, or both. Manufacturing experience required; SOX experience preferred.
