Edelman Smithfield, a global financial communications firm, seeks an Account Supervisor with experience in financial services to lead client service, project execution, media relations, and strategic communications, driving high-impact results for clients.

You will have strong reporter relationships and a deep understanding of private capital markets, translating complex topics into clear narratives while mentoring junior staff and contributing to new business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, journalism, communications, or a related field.
• At least 4+ years of experience in corporate communications, financial services, public relations, or public affairs, preferably in an agency setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications strategies for financial services clients from ideation to execution.
• Serve as day-to-day lead on teams with focus on timeliness, quality, and budget.
• Develop deep understanding of clients’ businesses and stakeholders to inform strategy.
• Support senior leadership in identifying challenges and creating efficiencies.
• Develop media engagement strategies and maintain relationships with journalists.
• Craft thought leadership content including op-eds, speeches, and messaging.
• Provide proactive and reactive media counsel ensuring alignment.
• Translate complex financial topics into clear narratives for media and investors.
• Oversee junior team members, offering mentorship and feedback.
• Contribute to new business through proposals and research.
