Job summary

The Precision Castparts Corporation in Tukwila, WA invites applications for an Accounting and Finance Co-Op. This program offers hands-on experience across month-end close, cost development, asset management, and SOX support in a manufacturing setting.

You will work with the Accounting and Finance team to develop practical skills in GAAP basics, ERP systems, budgeting, and financial analysis while contributing to real-world processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Prior internship or co-op in Accounting/Finance preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient with Excel and MS Office.
• Basic understanding of GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Assists with month-end close and ledger reconciliation.
• Supports product cost development, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Develops understanding of Financial and ERP systems.
• Assists in fixed assets management and depreciation.
• Improves daily processes to increase workflow efficiency.
• Provides audit support with schedules and documents.

Position Summary

Position can start any time between January and June 2026.

The Accounting and Finance Co-Op will obtain practical business knowledge while applying classroom-learned skills in a manufacturing environment. The Accounting and Finance Co-Op will support the Accounting and Finance team in various areas.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists with month-end closing processes, maintains the general ledger, generates monthly journal entries, and reconciles accounts.


• Assists with product cost development and cost-savings calculations by creates budgets, forecasting, and activity rating.


• Develops a strong understanding of the Financial and ERP systems


• Assists in the management of fixed assets including capitalizations, disposals, monthly depreciation/amortization, and researching appropriate accounting treatment of complex transactions related to fixed assets.


• Reviews and improves daily processes and tasks to expediate and improve workflow.


• Provides audit support through the generation of timely and accurate schedules and procedural documentation.


• Assists with SOX reporting.


• Analyzes cost variance reports and profitability by item and customer.


• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field.


• Prior experience working as an Accounting or Finance intern/co-op preferred, but not required.


• Critical problem analysis, decision making, and analytical abilities.


• Proficient in Excel and other M.S. Office applications.


• Basic understanding of GAAP.


• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.


• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
