Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. seeks an Accounting and Finance Co-Op to apply classroom knowledge in a manufacturing setting.

You will support the Accounting and Finance team across multiple areas, gaining practical experience in month-end close, cost development, and ERP systems. The role emphasizes analytical problem solving, strong Excel proficiency, and the ability to work both independently and with a team while supporting SOX reporting and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Prior internship/co-op in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Strong problem analysis, decision making, and analytical abilities.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office.
• Basic understanding of GAAP.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, verbal, and written communication.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end closing, general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Assist with product cost development, budgeting, forecasting, and activity rating.
• Develop understanding of Financial and ERP systems.
• Assist in fixed assets management, including capitalization, disposals, depreciation, and research of accounting treatments.
• Review and improve daily processes to expedite workflow.
• Provide audit support with timely schedules and documentation.
• Assist with SOX reporting.
• Analyze cost variance reports and profitability by item and customer.
• Other duties as assigned.
