Gamer’s Choice in Queens, NY seeks a Director of Finance to own the company‑wide financial picture, cash flow, and capital plan, reporting to the CEO. This role builds the finance function from the ground up, partnering with Sales, Buying, and Operations to deploy cash for growth and profitability.

The role requires 7–12 years in finance, with leadership experience, strong SKU‑level economics, and the ability to translate data into clear business decisions.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or director‑level role.
• Built finance function from ground up in ecommerce/retail or inventory-heavy environments.
• Hands‑on inventory/ecommerce finance experience including SKU‑level P&Ls.
• Strong modeling and cash management skills.
• Integrity with clear, plain-English communication of financial trade‑offs.

Responsibilities

• Own company‑wide financial model, cash flow, and capital plan; guide hiring, inventory buys, marketing spend, and capital raises.
• Own unit economics and margin improvement programs; define SKU/channel margins and pricing guardrails.
• Own finance infrastructure, close, and reporting; build reliable month‑end close and leadership reports.
• Partner with Sales, Buying, and Ops to turn data into actionable recommendations and drive growth.
• Lead high-level tax and corporate structure strategy with external advisors.
