Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Financial Affairs Manager in the Department of Integrative Biology to oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting for faculty and center leadership on UT Main Campus.

You will lead a small team, ensure compliance with university policies, collaborate with Grants and Contracts, HR, and administration, and support strategic financial initiatives while maintaining accurate accounts and timely analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with five years of administrative experience or equivalent.
• Ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and handle competing issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication across faculty, staff, and administration.
• Experience collaborating with multiple university offices and stakeholders.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Budget and compliance oversight for office budgets and accounts.
• Maintain office management systems and endowment sheets.
• Advise on allowability and funding sources; approve transactions.
• Supervise accounting, procurement, and inventory staff.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, projections, and compliance.
• Collaborate with Grants, Contracts, and HR on financial initiatives.
