Job summary

Florida Department of Health is seeking a Fiscal Assistant II to manage deposits, bills, and data entry for Spring Hill and Brooksville CHDs. You will balance daily deposits, load data into FLAIR/FL Palm, and monitor payments and reports.

The role involves reviewing CPT/ICD codes for billing, processing Medicaid/Medicare/HMO claims, and resubmitting denials with correct patient details. Strong data handling and accounting skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Create deposits for the bank and balance deposits from all departments for Spring Hill and Brooksville CHDs.
• Load deposits into the FLAIR system/FL Palm and ensure entries within 5 days.
• Pull reports of all credit card payments daily.
• Review CPT and ICD codes for billing.
• Process Medicaid, Medicare, HMO and other insurance claims.
• Review and resubmit denials with correct ID and DOB.
• Coordinate billing for timely, accurate payments.
• Prepare Health Insurance Claims (HICA) forms when electronic transmission fails.
• Maintain secure claim files for auditing purposes.
• Attend meetings and training related to Medicaid/Medicare/third-party payers.
• Scan checks/money orders and day’s paperwork into online system.
