Profile

A law firm is seeking a Finance Associate Attorney for their New York City office. The ideal candidate will have experience in project finance and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is preferred but not required. This role involves working on complex finance transactions, advising clients on financial matters, supporting M&A deals, and ensuring legal compliance and effective project management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Handle finance matters including project finance, structured finance, and M&A transactions.
2. Draft, review, and negotiate finance agreements, loan documents, and related legal documents.
3. Provide legal counsel on financial structures, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
4. Conduct due diligence and perform legal analysis for transactions.
5. Collaborate with clients, legal teams, and external advisors to facilitate transactions.
6. Manage legal aspects of transactions from start to finish.
7. Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
8. Support senior attorneys and lead smaller projects independently.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license or eligibility for the New York Bar.
• 2+ years of experience in finance law, focusing on project finance and M&A.
• Experience in a law firm setting preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of finance law and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to handle complex transactions and provide strategic advice.
