Job summary

RBC in Jersey City, NJ, seeks a Director of Finance Intelligent Automation & Controls to own the prototype-to-pilot AI pipeline for Regulatory Reporting, FP&A, and Financial Control. You will shape multi-year AI roadmaps, build agentic AI prototypes, and establish patterns for enterprise productionization with strong governance.

Leadership with CFO visibility is required. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive value metrics, and ensure secure, compliant delivery across Finance data assets

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced technical credential preferred
• Minimum 12 years in Finance with at least 5 years in senior leadership at a major financial institution
• Deep domain expertise across Regulatory Reporting, Financial Control, Product Control, or FP&A
• Demonstrated hands-on AI/ML delivery experience: built and shipped LLM-based or agentic solutions in production environments
• Strong judgment in governance, audit, and controls from inception
• Senior-level executive communication and credibility with CFO and ExCo visibility
• Proven builder's bias: capable of producing working prototypes quickly
• Technical fluency to direct AI/data stacks: Python, SQL, RAG/agentic frameworks, vector stores, cloud platforms, orchestration

Responsibilities

• Shape and execute the multi-year Finance AI roadmap across data, automation, AI, reporting, and workflow optimization
• Identify high-value AI use cases and build the first prototype
• Establish value-realization metrics and productivity gains
• Define the prototype-to-pilot hand-off pattern and standards
• Design for governance, audit, controls, and compliance from inception
• Partner with Tech and Data teams to improve Finance data assets
• Lead US Finance AI Academy and upskilling initiatives
• Manage senior stakeholders to align investment decisions
• Track emerging AI capabilities and balance adoption with constraints
• Ensure security, controls, audit, and resilience in solutions
• Work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Provide thought leadership and operate with attention to detail
