Job summary

Emerson in Marshalltown, IA seeks a manufacturing technician committed to safety and quality. You will perform wash operations, stage parts, segregate non-conforming materials, and maintain equipment, aiming to reduce lead times and support a make-to-order flow.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to stand long hours, read technical specs, and operate a forklift. Preferred candidates have an associate degree or equivalent manufacturing experience and 2–3 years CNC experience.

• Ability to stand on feet for long periods.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical specifications and instructions.
• Ability to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all job duties with Safety as a priority and in compliance with Safety Rules.
• Preform Wash at the Wash Pad and Wash Line.
• Stage parts for next operation.
• Segregate non-conforming materials according to work instructions.
• Maintain equipment with daily cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Produce quality parts/assemblies and eliminate the cost of non-conformance.
• Perform all required testing, paperwork, quality records, documents, etc.
• Align with all safety and work instructions.
• Maintain clear communication within department.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping rules, standards, and clean/restock as the need arises.
• Reduce lead times and optimize production cycle to conform to make-to-order.
• Maintain competitive cost associated assembly including labor, material, tooling, inventory, etc.
