Job summary

Colonial Group in Bardstown, Kentucky seeks an Extrusion Operator to run and maintain production lines for hand wrap and machine wrap rolls. You will ensure safety, efficiency, and quality on the floor, aligning with customer orders.

You will monitor processes, perform quality tests, log results, and adjust settings to meet specifications. Candidates need basic reading, math skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This is an hourly, non-exempt role on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of production experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and unit conversions for weight, length, and time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare line for shift with adequate material on hand for efficiencies.
• Set up line by operating equipment to form web and thread film through winders.
• Adjust line controls and process conditions to meet specs.
• Monitor film quality and adjust die bolts, winder settings, and related controls.
• Record test results for prestretch, gauge, and cling; adjust equipment as needed.
• Verify roll weights and ensure proper recipe verifications at shift changes and product changes.
• Ensure correct packaging, labeling, tagging and putaway of product.
• Assist in Hold Card process for nonconforming product and investigate causes.
• Move, stage and consume materials; return unused items to proper locations.
• Complete daily paperwork and line closeouts.
