Job summary

Appalachian Mountain Club is seeking a Fill-In Lodge Crew for Cardigan Lodge in Alexandria, NH, a seasonal role from late August to late November. You will assist with guest services, meals, housekeeping, and reservations while promoting a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests.

The position requires hospitality experience, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions at the lodge.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Experience in hospitality, food service, or outdoor recreation preferred.
• Experience in customer service and exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Attention to detail in performing a wide range of assigned tasks.
• Conflict resolution skills with a calm and respectful demeanor.
• Team-oriented mindset and enthusiasm for communal living.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to create a positive experience for each guest and visitor.
• Respond to all guest complaints and special requests in a respectful and professional manner.
• Interact with guests by providing information on local recreation opportunities, lodge amenities, organizational efforts, and available programs.
• Participate in meal planning, preparation, cooking, and service.
• Set up, service, and clean up daily meals.
• Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, shared areas, campsites, and privies.
• Assist with lodge room and campsite reservations, check‑in and check‑out.
• Assist with retail sales in the lodge store.
• Participate in deep cleaning of lodge spaces and special projects as instructed.
• Assist with general groundwork and maintenance.
• Implement energy conservation and environmentally sound practices in daily operations.
• Maintain positive interactions with supporting businesses and colleges.
• Help create a respectful, clean, and safe communal living environment.

About Cardigan Lodge

Cardigan Lodge sits at the base of Cardigan Mountain and offers a full-service experience to guests, including dynamic hiking and ski trail systems, 26 primitive campsites, and a rustic cabin half a mile from the summit.

What We Offer
