Job summary

Visiting Angels invites caring individuals to join our team as in-home aides, CNAs, PCAs or experienced caregivers serving Dorchester, Berkeley and Charleston Counties in South Carolina.

Work is part-time with flexible days, evenings, weekends or overnights. Provides one-on-one client care, companionship and assistance with activities of daily living. No CNA license required; training provided.

Qualifications

• One year in-home caregiver preferred.
• Must adhere to plans of care for client.
• Excellent communication and active listening with clients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility.
• Provide medication reminders and personal care.
• Prepare light meals and assist with daily activities.
• Transport to appointments and perform light housekeeping.
• Offer companionship and attentive, respectful support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license, working vehicle, commuting required and current, up-to-date insurance
• Must adhere to plans of care for client
• Must have flexibility with schedules per client needs
• One year of in-home, caregiver experience preferred
• Must have good communication skills, have active listening, between clients/families and staff
• Must be able to be calm in emergent situations and inform staff of any changes to client status
• Pass background and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility
• Medication reminders
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Prepare light meals according to dietary restrictions
• Transportation to and from shops, pharmacy or appointments
• Perform light housekeeping duties for the client
• Be a pleasant, engaging, and supportive companion

Skills

• One year proven experience as a in-home caregiver (Preferred)
• Knowledge and demonstration of DME such as hoyer lift, wheelchairs, transfer bench, walker/training is available
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response, CPR preferred
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate
• Good time management skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

NO CNA LICENSE REQUIRED!
