Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Specialty Technician I for our Columbia team to perform field-based destructive and non-destructive testing, inspection, and observation on construction materials. This role emphasizes structural steel inspections, welding observations, and NDE while under supervision, developing competency and maintaining ECS Core Values.

The candidate will perform testing, document findings, communicate with project teams, and support site testing equipment management.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain two specialty certifications applicable to the work performed per ECS Technician Certification Policy.

Responsibilities

• Performs destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials.
• Conducts inspections of structural steel, reinforcing steel, and connections (welded and bolted).
• Performs field observations and inspections and collects samples for testing.
• Documents findings in accordance with engineering and inspection standards.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changes in site conditions and additional testing needs.
• Prepares and submits daily field reports and documentation.
• Performs basic calculations and data reduction tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field testing equipment.
