Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Field Welding Engineer to lead the Bechtel Field Welding program for the Cheyenne Power Hub Project in Cheyenne, WY. This role oversees welding operations, lab activities, and heat treatment coordination.

You will ensure welding meets all codes and client requirements, supervise qualifications, and coordinate NDE with construction and subcontractors on a major EPC project.

Qualifications

• NDE certifications including VT, PT and MT.
• Knowledge of AWS, API, NFPA, AWWA, ASTM and ASNT codes; ASME Section I and B31.1.
• Advanced knowledge and/or certifications in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW.
• Bechtel SWPP 4MP-T81-03701; 03708 Pre/Post Weld Heat Treatment; 03705 Welding & NDE Documentation.

Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains the Bechtel Field Welding program for all welding operations.
• Provides specialized welding engineering support to ensure work meets code, client and Bechtel standards.
• Reviews weld documents and maintains program credibility; coordinates with Project Field Engineer and Lead Field Welding Engineer.
• Manages welding test lab, welder qualifications, and rod room materials.
• Assists in pre- and post-weld heat treatment program and coordinates NDE with construction and subcontractors.
• Performs field inspections, advises on quality defects, and closes non-conformance reports.
