Job summary

The City of Aurora is seeking a Water Utility Inspection Technician to support inspection of water and related utility projects. You will verify compliance with plans, specifications, and city codes, and assist in ensuring safe, reliable utility services for Aurora residents.

Responsibilities include field inspections, documentation, and coordination with contractors. A valid Colorado driver license is required; associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred.
• Experience in utility construction inspections is preferred.
• Colorado driver license with good driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect water and sanitary service lines for compliance with plans and regulations.
• Observe construction projects and elevate issues to supervisor as needed.
• Maintain accurate construction files and records and communicate findings.
• Walk through sites with contractors and inspect ongoing work, reporting discrepancies.
• Perform field work such as data gathering, site surveying, and problem area identification.
• Engage with other city departments to coordinate water projects.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
• Work schedule typically Monday–Friday 7:30 am–4:00 pm; some overtime/holiday/on-call duties.
