Job summary

Aqua America, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Technician to support the operation, maintenance and construction of water distribution facilities in Mentor, Ohio. You will handle service work orders, read meters, and maintain documentation while complying with OEPA and PUCO rules.

Ideal candidates bring a valid U.S. license, CDL-A if available, OEPA Class I license, and strong communication and customer service skills. This on-site role may require on-call availability and overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• A valid U.S. driver’s license.
• CDL-A or must acquire within Bargaining Unit time frame.
• OEPA Class I Distribution License or obtain within Bargaining Unit time frame.
• Competent person certification or obtain within specified period.
• Tests may be required to determine qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment at water production facilities and booster stations.
• Operates and maintains water distribution systems including mains, valves, hydrants and service lines.
• Completes service work orders and updates system documentation.
• Ensures daily work complies with OEPA and PUCO requirements and company safety policies.
• Operates and performs maintenance on equipment and vehicles for water system.
• Reads maps, drawings and GIS data.
• Performs field service representative and meter reading duties as assigned.
• Interacts with internal staff and external customers; communicates work status.
