Job summary

WIN Waste Innovations in Millbury, MA is seeking an Assistant Utility Operator to monitor and operate ash and auxiliary plant equipment from the field, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations.

You will perform maintenance, operate equipment with guidance, and troubleshoot to minimize downtime while supporting plant safety and efficiency. The role requires rotating shifts and potential overtime, with MA Hoisting license eligibility within nine months of hire.

Qualifications

• Mechanical abilities sufficient to perform equipment maintenance and minor repair such as replacement of shear pins and valve repacking.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts.
• Massachusetts Hoisting License 1C/2A or ability to obtain within 9 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and minor repairs to ash handling and other assigned auxiliary systems.
• Operate plant equipment and systems with assistance and guidance to ensure proper functioning.
• Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; uses in-situ intercom, two-way radio, or face to face.
• Anticipates typical problems, identifies potential or recurring problems, and takes appropriate action.
• Troubleshoots equipment and assists in diagnosing problem areas.
• Operates other equipment including forklifts, manlifts, skid steer loaders, and other mobile equipment.
• Maintain positive work environment by communicating professionally with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.
• Housekeeping: Maintains work areas in a clean and safe manner.
• May be required to work overtime hours during planned and unplanned maintenance; cover vacancies and callouts as needed.
