Job summary

USIC is seeking outdoor-focused location technicians who will work in the field to locate underground utilities. You will operate a company vehicle, use field tools, and document each locate with photos while maintaining safety standards.

No prior locating experience is required, but willingness to learn and safety compliance are essential. The role involves daytime, full-time shifts with potential overtime, weekends, and on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficient with technology and field tools.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces.
• Able to read locate tickets, maps and prints.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities and mark their locations.
• Thoroughly search designated areas, complete documentation, and photograph each locate.
