Job summary

STV is seeking an experienced Utility Inspector for projects in the North Wilkesboro, NC area within our Transportation division. The role supports current staff and helps grow our Construction Management and CEI practice to better serve clients statewide.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of utility installation/inspection experience, strong safety knowledge, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience with utility installation/inspection or construction inspection.
• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, traverse rough terrain, and work outdoors in all weather.
• Willingness to travel and work nights/weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform utility relocation verification activities for highway and bridge projects.
• Monitor contractor compliance with relocation plans.
• Prepare daily inspection reports.
• Measure and document completed work.
• Read and interpret utility relocation plans.
• Communicate with project staff and clients (verbal and written).
• Basic computer/tablet (iPad) operation.
