Job summary

ArborMetrics (AMS) is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to join our vegetation management team. You will inspect energy corridors, assess vegetation, and plan treatments for safety and reliability.

This role combines field work with stakeholder engagement and requires independent, disciplined work in variable outdoor conditions. The ideal candidate will have forestry or natural resources education or equivalent experience, GIS and MS Office familiarity, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.
Knowledge of tree identification.
Knowledge of common computer applications and ability to learn new programs.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records, maps, and paperwork for patrol circuits; maintain accurate documentation.
Field Patrol Duties: safely patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation needing pruning, removal, or protection.
Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: communicate work plans to property owners and agencies; obtain permissions.
Vegetation Management & Compliance: recommend sustainable strategies; audit contractor work for compliance.
Coordination & Safety: coordinate non-routine work; follow safety protocols; operate vehicles.
