Job summary

ArborMetrics (AMS) seeks a Consulting Utility Forester to perform field vegetation management for utility corridors. You will work outdoors, organize patrol records, assess vegetation, and engage with landowners while adhering to safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification and GIS software/technology.
• Ability to learn new programs and use common computer applications.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: Organize records, maps, and paperwork for patrol circuits; maintain documentation.
• Field Patrol Duties: Safely patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation for pruning/removal/protection.
• Classify prescribed work per field conditions and ANSI line clearance standards.
• Conduct Tree Risk Assessments and analyze growth rates.
• Mark vegetation and prescribe clearance actions per client directives.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: Use maps to identify property boundaries and rights.
• Communicate work plans to owners, agencies, and organizations.
• Obtain permissions for vegetation work from landowners and agencies.
• Provide professional customer service and foster community relations.
• Audit contractor work for compliance with client specifications.
• Investigate tree-related outages and document findings.
• Address customer service and internal compliance issues.
• Coordination & Safety: Coordinate non-routine work, report safety concerns.
• Follow safety protocols and wildfire prevention plans.
• Operate vehicles and travel to work areas.
• Additional Responsibilities: Participate in storm and emergency response.
