Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Utility Arborist to join our field team in Montgomery, Alabama. This role focuses on vegetation management for utility corridors, combining outdoor work with safety and client service.

You will perform patrols, assess tree risk, and engage landowners while following ISA pruning techniques and ANSI standards. A degree in forestry or related field and valid driver's license are preferred; GIS and MS Office skills help succeed.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline (education may be required depending on client contract).
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification; GIS software/technology; MS Office and iPhone usage.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records, maps, and paperwork; review sites for endangered species and habitats.
• Field Patrol Duties: patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation for pruning/removal; assess tree risk and prescribe clearance actions.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: identify property boundaries, communicate plans, obtain permissions, provide customer service.
• Coordination & Safety: follow safety protocols, report hazards, operate vehicles; coordinate with stakeholders and contractors.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm/emergency response; perform other duties as assigned.
