Job summary

Town of Queen Creek, AZ is seeking a full-time, benefited, temporary Utilities Meter Technician to perform meter installations, testing, and data analysis for AMI systems. The role involves fieldwork, customer interactions, and maintaining accurate records.

The position is funded through June 30, 2027 and may be extended subject to budget approval. A valid driver’s license and ADEQ Distribution Grade I certification within 6 months are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes, completes and routes daily work orders for performing meter assemblies.
• Installs, replaces, relocates, tests and maintains a variety of meters and related appurtenances.
• Perform field investigations and data analysis on AMI equipment to diagnose and correct performance problems.
• Produce accurate computer data entry for work order systems and logs.
• Communicates with customers to perform inspections and resolve issues.
• Maintains and tracks inventory and materials.
• Performs data analysis to identify errors and issues affecting billing and meter reading accuracy.
• Prepares and reviews reports on water usage, leaks, and meter data.
