Role Description

This is a full-time, part-time, or second job and remote role for a Field Underwriter.

Set your own hours and schedule. Work in multiple timezones and states that work best for your schedule.

The Field Underwriter will work with families seeking coverage, assess risk and determine each family's best coverage options. They will also be responsible for submitting applications to the best carrier and supporting the underwriting process.

Leads (qualified and compliant) are generated by our brokerage for agents (direct mail, call-in and digital).

No cold calling.

The Field Underwriter will provide exceptional customer service and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Compensation Structure

1099 role.

Commission rates start at 80% Annual Premium Value (APV) through 130% APV, plus bonuses, and equity ownership potential. Once you earn a commission rate promotion, it is yours to keep; you do not go backwards or have criteria to maintain.

Agents earn commission on their own pen at their contract level, and overrides on their agency's issued policies on the differential between their contract rate, and each agent in their agency. Commissions paid at each level from the writing agent, all the way up to the 130% contracted level agent in the master agency.

Commissions are paid out in advance: 75% upon issuance, 25% in months 10, 11, & 12.

Path to legal ownership at the 105% contract level with 6 writers. No capital contribution.

No caps on income or minimum quotas.

New, Average, Part-time Agents earn an average of $3,000-$5,000 per month in commission for 15-20 hours per month (~6 policies). Equating to approximately $70,000 per year. Unlicensed agents with no prior experience generally start part-time, on their own time. Then transition into full-time once they are trained.

Full-time, average agents earn $15K-$17K per month in deposits (15-20 placed policies). Equating to $150,000-$200,000 per year.

Passive agency income would be in addition to these personal production averages.

Brokerage and carrier sponsored bonuses and reward trips.

NO experience in the insurance industry or knowledge of underwriting principles necessary
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Current Life, Health and Accident state license a plus, but not required
