Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services seeks a Foreperson to coordinate crews, equipment, and supplies to complete jobs per contract specs. You will lead daily tasks, assign work, ensure safety, and communicate with property owners as needed.

Responsibilities include planning work, supervising crew performance, maintaining records, and performing storm restoration duties when required. A valid driver's license and first-aid/CPR certification are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet and demonstrate qualifications of all positions on a crew.
• Must be able to follow verbal or written directives.
• Must be able to delegate work and take accountability for the performance of a crew.
• Must be able to understand drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Must be able to adjust to field requirements and take independent action without close supervision.
• Must have and maintain a Driver’s License and be able to safely drive a company vehicle.
• Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct crew members and manage equipment each day.
• Assign tasks to crew members and supervise performance.
• Plan and execute the assigned work in a safe and professional manner.
• Organize job assignments so that work is completed as efficiently as possible.
• Notify property owners of presence on property and obtain permission as needed.
• Ensure crew members wear PPE and follow safe practices on the job.
• Trim and remove trees using ladders, safety gear, or ground methods.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into a chipper.
• Keep records of time, equipment, and material used.
• Inspect completed work and report to the customer.
