Job summary

DRMP's Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) division is hiring Transportation Technicians/CEI Inspectors to support field projects around the Raleigh area. You'll perform highly complex field surveying, construction layout, and inspections, with most work in the field and occasional home office assignments.

The role requires 4+ years in construction inspection, relevant certifications, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work 40 hours weekly with overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 4+ years in construction inspection, including roadway/bridge work.
• AAS Civil Engineering Technology with 2+ years experience, including at least 1 year roadway inspection.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.
• Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues course and certification form.
• Minimum 40 hours per week with potential overtime (Hourly).
• Ability to work in a team environment and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Daily documentation of the contractor's work efforts.
• Project field book preparation and documentation.
• Density log book preparation and documentation.
• Material sampling and testing.
• Assist with Final Estimates package preparation.
• Measure distances to verify construction layout accuracy.
• Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of activity/installations.
• Observe workmanship to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Obtain material samples for lab testing.
• Examine workmanship and accept installations.
• Record quantities of materials received or used.
• Maintain daily construction and inspection logs.
