Job summary

DRMP is seeking Transportation Technicians/CEI Inspectors in the Kinston, NC area to perform highly complex field surveying and construction layout, inspect work, and conduct field tests. Roles report primarily to field projects but home office is maintained.

Responsibilities include documenting contractor work daily, preparing field books, sampling materials, and supporting final estimates while adhering to specifications. Requires 40-hour weeks and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with 4+ years in construction inspection, including roadway/bridge work.

Responsibilities

• Daily documentation of the contractor’s work efforts.
• Project field book preparation and documentation.
• Density log book preparation and documentation.
• Material sampling and testing.
• Assisting with Final Estimates package preparation.
• Measuring distances to verify construction dimensions.
• Verifying levels, alignment, and elevations.
• Observing work to ensure procedures and materials meet specs.
• Obtaining and preparing material samples for lab testing.
• Examining workmanship for conformity to standards and accept installations.
• Recording quantities of materials received or used.
• Maintaining daily log of construction and inspection activities.
