Job summary

Summit is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector (All Levels) in Raleigh, NC to assist in inspecting roadways and structures, perform calculations, and ensure materials meet specifications. The role involves field measurements, testing, and reporting on highway projects.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, math proficiency, and ability to read plans, with capability to work independently and communicate effectively with agencies and contractors.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to apply algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
• Proficiency with iPad and MS Office.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform testing and maintain reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspecting roadways and structures and perform calculations with supervision.
• Perform materials sampling and testing.
• Collect weigh tickets and conduct roadway tests to verify material specs.
• Monitor and perform inspection work on highway projects.
• Maintain daily records and prepare monthly project estimates.
• Take field measurements and calculate contract pay quantities.
• Read plans and blueprints.
