Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking Engineering Technicians/Construction Inspectors for Division 6 across Fayetteville and nearby NC towns. You will observe construction activities, review materials, inspect roadways and structures, and document daily reports for NCDOT projects.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, civil engineering education is a plus, OSHA 10 within 2 weeks, proficiency in Microsoft Office, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in the field

Qualifications

• HS diploma required or equivalent.
• Associate or BS in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology is a plus.
• Roadway and bridge inspection experience is required.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• OSHA 10 certification within 2 weeks of hire.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily observation of construction activities and document activities on required reports/forms.
• Review construction materials for contract and specification compliance.
• Inspect roadways and structures for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Evaluate structural materials, placement of culverts, and structural operations such as foundation excavation.
• Monitor placement of pilings, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete, and backfill.
• Verifies lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using survey and field engineering equipment.
• Perform accurate calculations and computations.
• Sample and test construction materials to ensure they meet the quality requirements of the project specifications.
• Review contractor submittals for conformance to project documents and specifications.
• Document and immediately report any non-compliance actions and safety violations to your immediate supervisor.
• Recording Daily Work Reports to include quantities and an objective description of the work shift activities.
