Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) seeks experienced Engineering Technicians/Construction Inspectors for Division 12 in North Carolina, including Hickory, Gastonia, Statesville, Shelby, Lincolnton and surrounding areas. You will provide daily observation of construction activities, review materials, and inspect roadways to ensure compliance with plans and specs.

Ideal candidates hold NCDOT certifications and have CEI experience.

Qualifications

HS diploma required or equivalent.
Associate or BS in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology is a plus.
Roadway and bridge inspection experience is required.
Experience working on NCDOT projects.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
OSHA 10 within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide daily observation of construction activities and document activities on required reports/forms.
Review construction materials for contract and specification compliance.
Inspect roadways and structures for conformance to plans and specifications.
Evaluate structural materials, placement of culverts, and structural operations such as foundation excavation.
Monitor placement of pilings, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete, and backfill.
Verifies lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using survey and field engineering equipment.
Perform accurate calculations and computations.
Sample and test construction materials to ensure they meet the quality requirements of the project specifications.
Review contractor submittals for conformance to project documents and specifications.
Document and immediately report any non-compliance actions and safety violations to your immediate supervisor.
Recording Daily Work Reports to include quantities and an objective description of the work shift activities.
