Qualifications

• Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work.
• Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry involving blueprints or plans.
• One year as an Engineering Technician or two years as Transportation Technician/Construction Cost Technician, as applicable.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Inspect transportation construction to verify compliance with codes and plans.
• Examine placement of materials such as concrete and drainage components.
• Perform compaction testing and assess soil and aggregate conditions.
• Complete calculations, estimates, and reports to support project tracking and progress.
• Communicate with staff, agencies, and the public to support project administration.
• Assist with resolving issues that arise during construction activities.
