Qualifications

• One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Lead inspection efforts to ensure projects are safe and on track.
• Oversee construction inspection activities to support safe, accurate, and compliant project work.
• Verify traffic control devices and construction activities meet required standards.
• Review project records and materials data for proper reporting.
• Provide on-site instruction about construction practices and materials testing.
• Interpret contract requirements and communicate project decisions to staff and contractors.
• Check work orders for compliance and support final project audits.
