Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking a Field Trainer to lead training within our facility teams, supporting core values and safety standards. The role involves conducting new hire and ongoing training, coordinating projects, and performing site inspections to ensure safe work zones follow regulations.

Responsibilities include credential maintenance, client-facing communications, and driving safety culture across teams. A strong background in leadership, teaching, and ATSSA certifications is required.

Qualifications

• ATSSA Flagger Certification with a score > 90%.
• ATSSA Traffic Control Technician Training with a score > 90%.
• ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor Training with a score > 90%.
• ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor Certificate.
• 2+ years (4,000 hours) work zone temporary traffic control experience (Florida positions).
• 1+ years management experience preferred.
• Some teaching or presentation experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and coaching skills.
• Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to complete detailed paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintain traffic control, safety, supervisor, and instructor credentials.
• Conduct new hire and recurrent training for employees.
• Conduct daily site visits with an inspection checklist to ensure safe work zones.
• Ensure safety/compliance requirements at the facility.
• Enforce safe work practices to protect people and assets.
• Investigate incidents and develop preventative measures.
• Track asset and labor usage for projects.
• Coach employees on traffic control standards and company policies.
• Provide input on performance, safety, and training; facilitate disciplinary actions if needed.
• Lead team meetings and participate in customer safety and project meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers; assist to resolve service issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
