Job summary

Intertek USA is seeking an Experienced Field Testing Technician for Hillside, Illinois. You will assist with field testing projects, building inspections and forensic investigations of building envelope failures, covering wall cladding systems, curtain wall and roofing aspects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial construction, with strong communication skills and the ability to work from elevated platforms, travel daily to local sites, and report findings clearly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial construction.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and travel daily.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable driving record.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office & Outlook.
• Willingness to work from elevated platforms.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field testing projects as assigned.
• Perform forensic investigations of building envelope failures.
• Communicate site observations, test prep, procedures, results, and reporting.
• Prepare and submit accurate project reports.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling, execution and reporting.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients and project team.
