Job summary

Intertek is seeking an experienced Field Testing Technician in Plymouth, Michigan to support field testing projects, inspections, and forensic investigations of building envelope failures. You will travel daily to local sites and communicate with project teams to plan, execute, and report findings.

The role requires hands-on capability with building enclosures and the physical ability to work from elevated platforms, with a Monday–Friday schedule and travel requirement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Willingness to travel daily to local job sites.
• General computer skills – Microsoft Office & Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Field testing projects as assigned.
• Forensic investigations of building envelope failures.
• Communicate with project team regarding site observations, test preparation, procedures, results, and reporting matters.
• Prepare and submit accurate and concise reports on all projects assigned.
• Provide project coordination including planning, scheduling, execution and reporting.
• Consistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project team.
